Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act

Clery行为

的 Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery行为, is a federal law that requires all U.S. colleges and universities (including foreign campuses of U.S. 机构), both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to maintain and disclose certain crime statistics and campus security/fire information. 的 Clery行为 mandates requirements for incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Why is the Clery行为 important?

的 Clery行为 is named in memory of Jeanne Clery, a LeHigh University student who was raped and murdered by a student she did not know in her campus dorm room in 1986. In the spirit of the law enacted in Jeanne’s memory, the Clery行为 is designed to offer transparency to keep our campus community safe and to assist students, parents and members of the campus community in making informed decisions regarding their safety and the safety of others.

This website serves as a source of information and provides resources to help our campus community understand the Clery行为, and provide campus crime information, statistics and to support the safety initiatives at Jackson State University.
